What is SATELLITE PTT?

SATELLITE PTT (Push-To-Talk) is a two-way radio communication system that operates via the Iridium® satellite network. It enables reliable voice communication in remote or isolated areas where conventional mobile or landline networks are unavailable.

Even in the event of natural or human-made disasters that disable terrestrial infrastructure, SATELLITE PTT continues to function as an independent and stable backup communication system.

One-to-Many Communication

Unlike traditional satellite phones, SATELLITE PTT radios (e.g., the IC-SAT100) allow instant group communication. With a simple press of the transmit (PTT) button, users can immediately talk to all radios within the same talkgroup — making it ideal for mission-critical operations, emergency response, and field coordination.

🔑 Emergency Key

  • The orange key on the top panel serves as an emergency call button.

  • When held down, it transmits an emergency alert to preprogrammed users or groups.

💧 Waterproof, Dust-Tight, and Durable

  • IP67-rated: can withstand 1 meter of water for 30 minutes and is completely dust-tight.

  • MIL-STD 810G compliant, ensuring resistance to shock, vibration, and temperature extremes.

  • Operating range: –30°C to +60°C (–22°F to 140°F).

  • Ideal for harsh outdoor or industrial environments.

🚗 In-Vehicle or In-Building Operation

  • Optional AH-40 external antenna allows:

    • Roof mounting for vehicle use.

    • Window placement for indoor use.

  • Bluetooth® support enables hands-free communication while driving.

  • Powerful 1500 mW speaker output ensures clear communication even in noisy environments.

🔋 Long Battery Life

  • Uses BP-300 Li-ion battery pack with up to 14.5 hours of operation (based on TX:RX:Standby = 5:5:90).
