SHOUT Nano Overview

Power Efficiency

  • Ultra-low power consumption: Less than 35 μA during sleep mode.

  • Long operation time: Can send hourly position reports for up to two months (~1,200 reports) on a single charge.

  • Automatic wake-up: Device wakes from sleep to transmit scheduled position data.

Messaging Capabilities

  • Supports:

    • Free text messages

    • Canned (predefined) messages

    • Mixed-mode messages (free + canned text)

  • Features four sets of on-screen keyboards for message composition.

Tracking Functions

  • Normal tracking mode: Automatically sends position reports at user-defined intervals — from continuous to once every seven days.

  • Waypoint tracking: Can send or store waypoints for later retrieval.

Security & Encryption

  • Transmits data in:

    • Standard format or 256-bit AES encryption

    • Encrypted PECOS formats (supports Brevity Codes for secure communications)

Form Factor & Compatibility

  • Compact, lightweight design for discreet or convenient personnel tracking.

  • Configurable for both:

    • Commercial Iridium Gateway

    • DoD (Department of Defense) Gateway

User Functions

  • Quick Check-In: Single soft key sends a predefined check-in message.

  • Emergency Alert (911 Activation):

    • Sends an emergency alert to a designated monitoring center

    • Enables two-way communication for situational updates and assistance.
